Funding, Prestige in Future for Four Young UC Riverside Faculty Members
Three professors from UC Riverside’s Bourns College of Engineering and one from the Physics Department have been awarded the National Science Foundation’s most prestigious grant for promising junior faculty members, the foundation has announced.

UC Riverside Libraries and The Science Fiction Museum & Hall of Fame Team Up for Conference on Science Fiction
The University of California, Riverside Libraries, which house The J. Lloyd Eaton Collection, the world’s most extensive science fiction and fantasy collection, joins The Science Fiction Museum & Hall of Fame in Seattle to present "Inventing the 21st Century: Many Worlds, Many Histories" on May 5, 6 and 7 in Seattle.

Biologist's Findings on Fertility and Status in Monkeys Generate Scientific, Media Interest
University of California, Riverside Assistant Adjunct Professor of Biology Wendy Saltzman’s inquiries into the role social position plays in the fertility of female marmosets were the recent subject of a presentation at the American Association for the Advancement of Science and on the BBC 4 radio show "Leading Edge."

The UCR Alumni Association will celebrate 50 years of Highlander pride and service to alma mater at its 

Annual Meeting
on Friday, May 20, 2005

All program volunteers and former Association board members are encouraged to join in the festivities from
6-9 p.m. in the University Commons. 

To enhance the celebratory atmosphere of this important milestone, we have combined our Annual Meeting with that of the Citizens University Committee

Palm Desert Campus Opening

Join the celebration at UCR Palm Desert

Highlander alumni are invited to join UCR at a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of UCR Palm Desert. The event will take place April 15, 2005 at 1:00 p.m., and will include a community preview of academic and research programs to be offered in the 2005-2006 academic year. Following the ceremony, attendees will also have a chance to tour the buildings and see exhibits highlighting UCR's programs in the Desert. 

UCR Palm Desert is located at the Northeast corner of Cook Street and Frank Sinatra Drive in Palm Desert.
